A Florida jury has convicted a Georgia man of murdering his ex-girlfriend back in 2005 in the Sunshine State.According to officials, a Pinellas County jury convicted Carl Roland, 45, of first-degree murder Thursday. Roland was sentenced to life in prison for killing Jennifer Gonzalez, 36, prior to escaping to Atlanta in 2005.
Roland spent more than two days atop a 25-story crane in Atlanta's entertainment district as Florida authorities put their case together.
Roland was later returned to Florida to face charges.
