Cobb County Woman Gets 10 Years in Jail for Fires

A Cobb County teen is headed to jail for the next decade for setting fire to a pair of mattress firm stores after being fired.

Jemi Altamirano, 19, was sentenced this week by Cobb County Superior Court Judge Robert Flournoy to 20 years probation for breaking into the two stores on June 10 using keys she had not turned in. Altamirano also must pay $25,000 restitution.

According to the prosecution, Altamirano told investigators she felt satisfied when she saw the flames at the Mattress Firm Supercenter stores in Marietta and later in Vinings.

No injuries resulted from either fire.
