Three Cherokee County schools went into lockdown mode for a few hours today following reports of a gun or guns on campus. Police arrested two male students who reportedly were involved in the incident.According to authorities, Woodstock High School, Woodstock Middle School and Etowah High School were placed on lockdown after a gun was found in a Woodstock High School restroom ceiling.
Police also went to the homes of both individuals arrested after obtaining warrants, where several guns were reportedly confiscated.
Police had received a tip that two or three students would be going to Woodstock High today armed with the weapons and ammunition.
The lockdown ended shortly after 10 a.m.
