EDITOR'S NOTE: As a feature each Sunday, GOATLANTA will highlight a Georgia missing persons case.
Family, friends and authorities continue to wonder just what happened to Justin Gaines.
On Nov. 1, 2007, Gaines (18 at the time) returned home from Athens, changed his clothes and went out with friends to Wild Bill's, a bar in Duluth.
After several hours at the bar in Duluth, Gaines reportedly was last seen around 1 a.m. Gaines was said to have called his roomate for a ride about an hour later, but the roomate was not available. With that phone call, that is the last anyone had heard from Gaines.
According to family members, Gaines has two other ID's besides his own - Brad Allen and Brad Shewe. Gaines is described as being approximately 5' 10", around 210 lbs. and had both his ears pierced.
While initially a missing persons case, authorities recently said that some evidence may indicate Gaines was a victim of foul play.
His family has issued a reward of $25,000 for information leading to his whereabouts.
