A suspect was in custody Wednesday evening after leading several police departments on a high-speed chaseAccording to police, the suspect was witnessed going nearly 100 mph on the Downtown Connector. Officers pursued the driver into Cobb County and onto I-75 as he moved in and out of traffic.
The suspect eventually hit two Cobb County police cars, injuring one officer. Police then forced the suspect off the road, with the man's car hitting a tree on Amberwood Trail just off Chimney Springs Drive.
The man, who reportedly struggled with officers, was arrested and taken to jail. His name had not been released as of Thursday morning.
