Thousands of residents and business owners remained without power Tuesday afternoon following the storms that moved through the area.According to Georgia Power, some 39,000 customers were without electricity, 33,000 of those located in the immediate Atlanta area. The areas still without power are primarily in the Decatur and Buckhead areas, with some likely not to get their power back on until Wednesday night.
Meantime, Georgia Electric Membership Corporation (GEMC) reports approximately 300 customers remain without power.
