Severe Storms Hit State; Possible Tornados Reported

Heavy rains and possible tornados hit the Atlanta metro area and other parts north on Friday.

According to the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA), a possible tornado was reported in northwest Georgia’s Chattooga County.

There was also a report of three possible tornadoes hitting in Franklin County in northeast Georgia.

In Floyd County, south of Chattooga, there were reports of at least a dozen large trees falling across roadways, which were covered with debris.

Flights at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport were delayed for more than an hour due to the weather.
