School officials in Newton County sent a seventh-grader home from school Thursday after he reportedly would not remove a mask his mother gave him to protect against swine flu.According to school officials in Covington, the 13-year-old started a disturbance when he showed up at Cousins Middle School with the mask and rumors began to spread that he had the virus.
The student's mother reportedly plans to send him to school Friday wearing the mask.
The woman claims her 11-year-old son wore a mask to elementary school and was not told to remove it.
