Cobb County Meeting on Austell Road Corridor April 16

The Cobb Department of Transportation will host a second public meeting on the Austell Road corridor 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 16, at the South Cobb Government Service Center, 4700 Austell Road, Austell.

The meeting will discuss potential solutions to the access management issues along the corridor and there will be a presentation at 5:45 p.m. Access management methods are designed to improve operational efficiency of roadways without adding lane capacity. The Austell Road study has potential benefits for pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users.

The county is promoting potential redevelopment opportunities in the area and is looking for ways to make the community more vibrant and safe. Because public input is an important aspect of this project, Cobb DOT has developed a quick online survey. Data gathered from the survey will be used to help select priorities for enhancements in the corridor.
