Search Continues for Pilot After Plane Crash Kills 3

Authorities are continuing their search today for the body of a pilot after a private plane crashed Sunday into Shadinger Lake in Carroll County. The crash of the Cessna 182 (similar to the one in the picture) killed three people.

According to investigators, the plane crashed into the lake at approximately 9 a.m. close to the Carrollton-Tyus Road near the University of West Georgia. FAA records indicate the plane was registered to Kenneth Wood of Roswell.

Authorities believe the plane may have been en route to the NASCAR race that was taking place at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
