Kennesaw Mountain High Acid Spill Sends Teacher to Hospital

A teacher at Kennesaw Mountain High School was treated at a nearby hospital and released after an acid spill in a classroom Tuesday morning.

According to school officials, a teacher in a chemistry lab was removing a jar of sulfuric acid when he dropped the jar and it shattered, spreading solution on the teacher.

Officials evacuated a portion of the school as a precaution following the incident. None of the students in the classroom at the time of the spill were injured.

While all students have returned to the building, the chemistry lab has been closed down until the remainder of the spill can be cleaned up.
