The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners has awarded a construction contract to add turn lanes, a traffic signal and sidewalks along New Hope Road at the new Archer High School. The traffic signal will be located at the intersection of New Hope Road and Callie Still Road. The left and right turn lanes will improve traffic flow through the intersection and will provide access for vehicles entering the school.
According to the Board, the $1.5 million construction was awarded to Pittman Construction Company, the lowest bidder out of 12 firms. This project is funded though the 2005 Sales Tax Program.
The work will be complete in early August, prior to the school’s opening.
