Alabama Car Accident Kills U. of West Georgia Athlete

A University of West Georgia football player was killed and another one was injured following a single-vehicle accident Saturday night on I-85 in Opekia, Alabama.

According to authorities, Willie Pitts, 21, died at a local hospital from multiple blunt force injuries to his chest and head following the accident.
Pitts and a teammate, Calvin Dennis, 18, were among those injured in the accident. The accident also sent the driver of the car, Hilary Dennis, 58, to the hospital.

The trio were reportedly traveling to Tallahassee from Carrollton, Ga. as Pitts and the younger Dennis were beginning spring break.
