Atlanta police have updated the shooting death of bartender John Henderson early Wednesday morning at the Standard Food and Spirits.
After initially reporting that Henderson was shot execution style, police now say that the robbers broke into the Grant Park establishment by throwing a rock through the front glass door and then ordering Henderson, who was shot once in the leg, and a female co-worker to the back office.
Once in the back office, the robbers reportedly got the money they were looking for without an altercation with Henderson and co-worker Ashley Elder. Police then say that the robbers again shot Henderson in the leg before exiting the room. While exiting, the robbers reportedly shot several times through the door, where Henderson was fatally wounded in the head. Police now say Henderson suffered three bullet wounds, not the nine originally reported.
Anyone with tips in the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
