An Atlanta couple offered guilty pleas Friday afternoon in a case where they reportedly exploited and harbored an illegal immigrant from India as their nanny.According to court documents, Malika Garrett and her husband, Russell Garrett, a former Forsyth County sheriff's deputy, made the guilty pleas in federal court. The two reportedly used intimidation and fear as ways to keep their nanny from speaking up. Investigators claim that Russell Garrett used his badge as a way to keep the nanny quiet.
The couple is slated to be sentenced in April.
