New details have emerged in the murder of local bartender John Henderson, who was gunned down early Wednesday morning inside the Standard Food and Spirits on Memorial Drive.
According to Atlanta police, an officer was in the area minutes before the shooting in a patrol car across the street from the bar.
The four suspects gained entrance to the facility by smashing a window. Once inside, they reportedly moved Henderson and a female employee to a back room where they demanded money. Police say that Henderson and the fellow employee complied and gave them the money. Henderson was then shot nine times, while the female was left unharmed.
According to police, the female worker was able to hide in a cabinet when the robbers weren't watching.
Crime Stoppers Atlanta (www.crimestoppersatlanta.org) has increased the award to $10,000 in the case.
