Shane Dronett, who played a decade in the NFL and was a starter in every game as a member of the Atlanta Falcons' 1998 Super Bowl squad, was discovered dead in his home Wednesday. According to authorities from the Gwinnett County police department, officers were called to Dronett’s home near Atlanta on Wednesday in relation to a possible suicide. Police confirmed that Dronett’s body was discovered at the residence, and that an autopsy was pending.
Dronett, a second round pick of the Denver Broncos in 1992, was 38 years old.
