The 2008 Thanksgiving holiday travel period ended Sunday night with 4,542 traffic crashes, 1,073 injuries, and 15 traffic deaths reported over the 102-hour long period, according to the Georgia Department of Public Safety. Rain across the state since last Friday contributed to the higher than expected number of crashes and injuries.
