Dawgs, Yellow Jackets Battle Saturday Afternoon

With different things on the line, the Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets renew their gridiron rivalry this Saturday in Athens at 12 p.m.

With Georgia out of the national title picture hunt, and Georgia Tech out of contention for the ACC title, there is still much to be played for when the longtime rivals hook up.

Georgia has captured seven in a row in the series with Tech, leading the all-time series by 59-38-5.

Both teams come into the contest ranked in the Top 20, with Georgia at number 13 and Tech at number 18. The Bulldogs, the pre-season number one, sport a 9-3 record, including a loss to top-ranked Alabama, while Tech roles in at 8-3, fresh-off a win over Miami of Florida last week.

Tech ranks fourth in the nation in rushing offense at 270.8 yards per game, while the Bulldogs are giving up 23.8 points per game on the season, ranking 10th in the SEC. Georgia has allowed an average of 167.4 yards on the ground in their last five contests.
